Alex Turnbull

Business Development Executive

Early Careers

Alex Turnbull joined the IMechE in September 2019 as a Business Development Executive. He supports companies, colleges, universities and training associations throughout the UK. His primary focus is to encourage and support apprentices and students in the early stages of their career within engineering.

Alex is continuously building relationships and liaising with apprenticeship co-ordinators to ensure the institution has strong links within business and academia. He ensures that young aspiring engineers are aware of our free affiliate membership and offers workshops to support those who are ready to achieve their professional registration to be elected as an Engineering Technician (EngTech).

Alex enjoys mentoring and (hopefully) inspiring young engineers to envisage their future within the industry and open their eyes to their potential. With more and more demand for technicians in an ever-expanding industry, Alex takes pride in playing a part in this development and progress. Not only as a nation but also the progress of mankind as technology advances every day.

Alex is based in the East midlands in Lincoln after studying at University here and graduating with a degree in Criminology. He has worked in various account management and business development roles. Alex spent a year travelling around South East Asia and Australia while also living and working in Sydney for 6 months. He loves to travel and explore new places, he enjoys listening to music, mainly House and he is an avid football fan supporting Grimsby Town and Arsenal.
