2022 SPECIAL MEETING

In 2022 the Trustee Board intends to hold a Special General Meeting to seek the approval of Corporate Members and Associate members (voting members) on a motion regarding the future of the Institution’s Headquarters.

The HQ buildings (1-3 Birdcage Walk) are the Institution’s most significant asset and it is vitally important members are involved in making the decision about HQ’s future. The process for reaching that decision is via a debate and vote in a Special Meeting.

Most recently (20 January -3 February 2022) an Indicative Poll was held to give voting members the opportunity to indicate their preferences and levels of support for five potential options for the future of IMechE HQ.

Over 10,000 members participated and, during February, the Trustee Board will consider a detailed analysis of the poll data and ancillary feedback and agree the next steps in the process.
