Scotland Regional Apprentice Prize

Awarded to the applicant judged to have contributed most to improvements in the work place, voluntary situation, or the study programme while studying SQA Level 7 (Higher National Certificate / Diploma / NVQ / C&G or similar).

Eligibility

Applicants must have studied / worked at a location in Scotland to achieve a SQA level 7 Qualification (Higher National Certificate / Advanced Certificate / Modern Apprenticeship or similar) in mechanical engineering or a related engineering topic and may have studied part-time or on-line.

Award conditions

The Prize, with due regard to the level of study, will be awarded to the applicant judged to have contributed most to improvements in the work place, voluntary situation, or the study programme. The contribution could cover efficiency or safety improvements to production processes, design enhancements arising from practical experience, or to software or controls, it could cover assisting in a voluntary role to improve accessibility, etc..

The work must have a substantial mechanical engineering content or application and may have been conducted at college or in the workplace. It must have been conducted at a location in Scotland whilst studying for the SQA Level 7 Qualification, but not necessarily as part of it.

Value of award

  • £1500 plus a Certificate.

Closing date: 15 November 2024.

  • Applicants may self-nominate or be nominated by others.
