IMechE Singapore takes part in world engineering day

IMechE Singapore Branch Young Members and IMechE Republic Polytechnic Student Chapter Team took part in the World Engineering Day held at Singapore Science Centre on 4 March 2023.

IMechE SG was one of the collaborators with IES to make the festival a success.

IMechE benefited in several ways. The members who attended, enjoyed access to more booths. The global aspects of the event was a new experience for the Young Members of the Team. IMechE was exposed to a larger number of people that passed through the IMechE booth.

The team designed, built and delivered a bicycle driven energy storage device in record time. It was on site operating reliably, for participants of the festival, to try out and learn about the importance of energy generation, storage and conservation.

The on stage events included a topical discussion with Singapore Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, Dr Amy Khor.
