Summary

Gain knowledge of the benefits and applications of Additive Manufacturing (AM) and understand the range of AM processes and their characteristics.

Learn about the properties of materials, the manufacturing methods available and even create your own 3D printable design.

During this course, you will gain knowledge of the principles, benefits and applications of Additive Manufacturing (AM) and understand the range of AM processes. Learn about traditional manufacturing methods and be able to recognise the various approaches to design for AM.

The course will also take you through the steps required to design your own 3D printed part using an easy to follow example and finally to watching the design ‘come to life’ on a 3D printer.

Case studies from leading industry innovators will be presented demonstrating the design thinking required to utilise and adapt additive manufacturing in an industrial setting.

I was impressed with the trainer's style and methods of presentation and the progression from zero to a test exercise in just 1.5 hours! The 2-way exchange with the attendees was very much appreciated.

Robin Wilson, Mechanical Engineering Consultant

Delivery format:

This course will be delivered as two virtual classes (VCs) of 90 minutes each

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in Additive Manufacturing and the 3D industry and how it can benefit their business including hobbyists, product designers, engineers and managers. No prior knowledge of Additive Manufacturing or CAD design is required.
