The UAS Challenge STEM Outreach Programme is an integral part of the UAS Challenge.
As part of the programme, local schoolchildren are invited to attend the ‘fly off’ event in June 2021, speak to University students and view flights of team aircrafts. Schoolchildren are also given the opportunity to take part in fun and practical engineering and aerospace related STEM activities with our industry experts.
The UAS Challenge STEM Outreach Programme is a special feature of the competition, which was introduced as part of the Institution’s aim to support STEM education and encourage more young people to choose engineering as a career. The programme launched in 2018 and has since engaged over 300 schoolchildren across the challenge portfolio.
