Michael "Mike" Gascoyne , 50, is a renowned designer of Formula One cars and is the former chief technical officer of the Caterham Group.
McLaren, Sauber, Tyrrell, Jordan, Toyota and Renault are among the M1 teams Mike has worked for. More recently he worked as technical director at Spyker, later known as Force India, helping to set up Lotus Racing Team – now called Caterham F1 - in September 2009.
A trained engineer, Mike’s latest challenge is an offshore racing campaign called the ‘Caterham Challenge’. The challenge aims to bring F1 standards of technology and logistics to off-shore racing, to encourage green, sustainable and reusable energy technologies in the marine, automotive and aerospace sectors and to utilize Caterham’s extensive experience in F1, R&D, engineering, competitive sailing and sports marketing.
