Climate Schools Volunteer

Help students explore solutions to tackling climate change and discover skills they didn’t know they had.

The Climate School volunteer role is available via Engineering UK, an organisation funding by the UK professional engineering community through registration fees.

The Engineering UK Climate Schools Programme is a pilot programme aimed at helping students explore solutions to tackling climate change. Consisting of lesson plans, resources and activities aimed at 11 to 14 year-olds in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, this new pilot programme offers science, geography and English lessons that not only align with each nation’s curriculum but also inspire the next generation to explore green engineering careers and tackle climate change head-on.

Time commitment and location

You can give from half a day to any preferred number of days per year.

You can participate in person and virtually. Opportunities are available across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Requirements and training

Registration is free and done via STEM Learning UK and includes a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. Find out more about becoming a STEM Ambassador.

Training and an induction will be provided.
