It is a requirement of all professional registered Mentors to ensure that their membership with the Engineering Council does not lapse and we may contact the Engineering Council on an annual basis to verify this. We will share your personal data (which will be minimal) for the check to be completed. The lawful basis for this processing is legitimate interest as we must ensure that Mentors have continued Engineering Council registration whilst providing guidance to Developing Engineers on the MPDS and SRS schemes. The IMechE treats the privacy of its Mentors very seriously and we take appropriate measures to safeguard this.
