After the recent announcement that Aviva, one of the UK’s largest insurers, has withdrawn from SME professional indemnity insurance, R K Harrison Insurance Services' new specialist professional indemnity scheme for members of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers is both timely and reassuring.
Aviva’s withdrawal from underwriting any clients with a turnover of less than £10 million is likely to leave many engineers – including members of the Institution - without cover and is likely to impact on members of the Association of Consulting Engineers, which has a long-running scheme underwritten by Aviva.
