In reply to Tony Marshallsay's query about the application of golf ball technology to aircraft surfaces, he may be unaware that in 1936 Barnes Wallis undertook wind tunnel research into golf ball surface finishes, squares, pyramids, dimples and pimples. Bearing in mind his visionary intellect, one can only assume that he concluded that his results were not applicable to aircraft surfaces.
