Learning & Development team

Internationally recognised qualifications offer you the ability to up-skill as a project manager. They equip you with the tools and skills to undergo the requirements of any project, despite the complexity of the industry.

With so many different project management qualifications out there, how you know which one is right for you?

APM

The Association for Project Management is the UK body for the project profession. The PMQ (Project Management Qualification) covers a wide range of project management topics which are not specific to methodology or industry. The emphasis is on skills and techniques that can be applied in any project environment.

Ideal for: Anyone with 2 years or more experience of working in a project environment wanting a widely recognised practitioner-level qualification who want to improve their skills (or gain formal recognition for their existing skills).

PRINCE2®️

PRINCE2®️ is a project management methodology and stands for PRojects IN a Controlled Environment. The exams are designed to answer the question ‘could this person manage a project in an organisation that has implemented the PRINCE2®️ methodology?’. PRINCE2®️ is prescriptive and places emphasis on dividing projects into manageable and controllable stages.

Ideal for: People working in an organisation that has implemented the PRINCE2®️ methodology.

PMI PMP

The PMI (Project Management Institute) is the American organisation for project managers. Candidates for a PMP qualification must fulfil certain criteria before they can sit the exam, including several years documented evidence of leading projects and at least 35 hours of formal project management training.

Ideal for: people working for American companies, or working in America, and who have documented project management experience.
