Our UAS Challenge Steering Group is looking for an enthusiastic and committed volunteer to take on the role of a Deputy Head Judge for the Institution's UAS Challenge 2021.

We are looking for an experienced aerospace professional who can contribute their expertise to review feedback on team reports, participate in the three judges' meetings per year and join the final fly-off event held each June.

Launched in 2014 with the key objectives of developing professional engineers and inspiring the next generation, the UAS Challenge is now a highly anticipated event that attracts teams from across the UK and around the world. Teams of undergraduates take part in the Challenge, where they undertake a full design and build cycle of a unmanned aircraft system with specific mission objectives.

This is your opportunity to be a crucial part of the IMechE's leading aerospace challenge, helping to develop the next generation of engineering talent; don't miss your chance to apply and:

  • Inspire, equip and develop the next generation of engineers
  • Develop your management, interpersonal and business skills
  • Meet peers from other companies, industries and professional institutions and make valuable new connections
  • Contribute towards your continuing professional development
  • Broaden your professional horizons.

Simply download and complete our application form and submit before the closing date of 30 June 2020. The UAS Challenge team looks forward to receiving your application in the near future.

The UAS Challenge is sponsored by GKN Aerospace, Meggitt, Bombardier and Mashoom.
