Last year we set up a Working Group, chaired by Past President Patrick Kniveton, look at the options for the future of our Birdcage Walk headquarters building.
The building is over 100 years old and needs urgent modernisation and refurbishment if we are to continue to operate effectively from it.
The Working Group presented their findings to the Trustee Board on Wednesday 1 Feb. It was agreed that prompt action must be taken, and the work now evolve from an appraisal of options into a programme.
In parallel with the brief to Trustees, the Working Group are in the final stages of completing the draft of their Business Case ready for signing off by Trustee Board, with scrutiny to come from the Finance Board, the Strategy Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee.
Once Trustee Board has signed off the Business Case, it will be distributed to Council and other Boards and Committees for further consultation, with a view to taking a Special Resolution to a member vote later this year.
The Working Group is building on the earlier work done by Real Estate Strategy Group to look at options for Birdcage Walk.
