The Institution of Mechanical Engineers has reopened its headquarters, One Birdcage Walk, for meetings for up to 30 people, after being closed for events since the lockdown in March.

Measures are in place to ensure the safety of all visitors and staff. These include reduced room capacity to allow for physical distancing, hand sanitising stations around the building, modified pre-packaged menus and increased cleaning procedures.

“We’re delighted to be re-opening One Birdcage Walk for meetings and workshops. Our adjusted capacities meet the requirements for physical distancing and we have a range of catering options available to support small and medium sized meetings,” said Mark Pepperell, General Manager - Commercial Training & Venue Hire at IMechE.

Venues which are available for use include the lecture theatre, as well as 15 event spaces that can hold meetings, training courses as well as away days, filming and receptions.

One Birdcage Walk has the 'We're Good to Go' Industry Standard. This is a UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark to reassure customers that our business adheres to Government and public health guidance.
