Bloodhound SSC to make an appearance at Formula Student

The world’s fastest car, Bloodhound SSC, will be at the world’s largest student motorsport competition, Formula Student on Saturday 14 July.


The team will be on hand with the impressive full-scale model car to answer questions, talk through where they are in the build of this supersonic car, problems they have incurred and plans for the future. 

In addition to this, exclusively for all Formula Student competitors, James Painter, Senior Engineer of the Bloodhound project and former Formula Student competitor will be speaking on the Business Networking Day, Friday 13 July at 10.30am in the pavilion. He will talk through his experiences, how Bloodhound has made an impact on engineering advancements and where the project is right now.

Bloodhound aims to break the world land speed record in by travelling at 1,000mph in the South African desert, all the while encouraging children to take on science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects and showcasing British engineering excellence.
