Did you know, this award is named after the former IMechE president, who was once an apprentice at North Eastern Marine Engineering Co. Ltd? Bryan is an excellent example of the substantial, positive outcomes of an apprentice position and went on to help build the UK's first nuclear submarine.
The Institution’s Apprentice and EngTech Awards show our unwavering support for apprentices, engineering technicians and their dedicated and generous employers.
Other awards are also open now, such as the EngTech of the Year (£2000 prize) and the Bruce Ball Prize and CC Pounder Prize, each offering £1,000. You can apply for the Bruce Ball Prize if you studied at an educational institute in Scotland at Level 4. The CC Pounder Prize is eligible for those who studied at an educational institute in Northern Ireland at Level 3.
The Advanced Apprenticeship Provider of the Year Award will go to an organisation that can show significant dedication and commitment to promoting future talent while supporting their journey to becoming EngTech registered. Applicants must be able to demonstrate achievements for apprentice/graduate schemes and invest in outreach programs for young engineers.
Now that the application process is online, it is much easier and quicker to put yourself or your organisation forward.
The deadline for all awards is 14 August 2022, good luck!
