Emerging Trends in Mechanical Engineering – National Level Faculty Development Programme

The faculty development programme is one of the initiatives by the Young Member Panel India and first event by the Chain Events India in collaboration with Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology Student Chapter, Hyderabad.

The main objective of this event was to provide a platform and opportunity to the faculty, research scholars and industry. This programme led to exchange ideas, trends and innovations in the areas of mechanical engineering by the experts from the industry and academics.

The FDP Programme started in April 2024, with 160 external participants of different colleges, institutes and 20 participants from the host college itself. The event was held for 6 days with resource persons from the academics and the industry experts.

This event was followed by the Panel discussion on 28 April 2024, with the panel members discussing the Mechanical Engineering: Prospects, Challenges, and Career Opportunities. This Panel consisted of Dr. Syrish Raghuyal - Chairperson, IMechE India Branch, Mr. Mohammad Ameen Shaikh - Young Member Chair India, Mr. Abhishek Kumar – Event Coordinator IMechE India, Mr. Praveen Dorna – Director and Product and growth director of Verse Innovation India, Mr. A V Vishnu Reddy – Business Intelligence, Splash BI, Hyderabad, Dr. Syed Nawazish Mehdi – Sr. Prof, Dean FTD Mechanical Dept. LIET, and Mr. Samatham Madhukar – Asst Prof. and Associate Head MED, ALO IMechE LIET.

This event was successfully hosted with discussions on trends and innovations held in the brad field of Mechanical engineering, talking from the Automotive Industry, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Smart Materials, and focusing on the research as its important and a vital role in the development and innovations and lastly bridging the gap between the industry and academics which is very important for future engineers in understanding the industry and upgrading accordingly.

The Young Member Panel India with Chain India has successfully put its efforts in making its first ever such event in the South Asia Region of IMechE, focusing on the diversified learning by collaboration with different industry experts. A start in India will bring a chain affect in the region ahead.
