Jointly organised by the Structural Technology and Materials Group of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the NAFEMS UK Steering Committee, this award recognises outstanding projects completed by undergraduate engineering students in this field.

It is open to all students completing a project that involves engineering simulation techniques, such as finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, or multibody dynamics. The winning project will be awarded £1,000, with the runner up receiving £500.

How to enter

  • Please read the award Rules & Regulations before submitting.
  • Submit a summary of your project report (approximately 300 -1000 words), and complete your details on the entry form by 31 July 2023.
  • Your submission must be in English, and we will contact your tutor for confirmation.
  • If you progress to the next stage, we will ask you to submit your complete project and some further supporting information.
