Formula Student Team

IPG Automotive are delighted to offer full licenses of their leading CarMaker software and Formula CarMaker package for all Formula Student teams competing in 2023/2024 events.

To get access to the CarMaker software package and Formula CarMaker resources for use in the upcoming competition, simply register your details on the IPG Automotive website.

A global leader in virtual test-driving technology, IPG Automotive are developers of the innovative CarMaker simulation software platform, which is specifically developed for automotive virtual testing applications. It allows vehicle manufacturers to test and optimise their vehicle systems either independently or as whole, with modelling covering all aspects of a vehicle including powertrain, ADAS systems, brakes, suspension and much more!

They have also just launched new social media channels on X/Twitter and Instagram that will support teams, so be sure to give them a follow as we start the new FS year.

On the fence? Here's why you need CarMaker in your team's digital toolkit:

  1. The Formula CarMaker package comes both fully-featured and optimised for the Formula Student competition with everything you need to get started, plus a technical forum supported by the global IPG Automotive Team.
  2. No matter whether you are in a FS, Concept or FS-AI class, CarMaker gives your team the tools to carry out dynamic vehicle testing and setup optimisation for all the dynamic events at Silverstone – even on the day.
  3. No test track? No problem! Set up and perform hundreds of tests in a virtual environment and use that data to enhance the design and setup of your car, all without leaving your home, workshop or garage.
  4. Use of Formula CarMaker is mandatory for the Lap Time Simulation event, so be sure to download and get to grips with the software ahead of the competition and claim the win in this category.
  5. CarMaker is the world-leading option for virtual vehicle design testing and optimisation across vehicle dynamics, powertrain and ADAS/AV domains. It has a wide variety of applications and is a valuable asset for graduates looking for their first role in industry.
