French aerospace engineering firm eyes further work with Airbus at Filton

British arm of Aeroconseil will take on 50 new engineers in next two years

A French aerospace engineering firm is aiming to recruit more than 50 engineers over the next two years after opening a site in Bristol.

The UK arm of Aeroconseil hopes to recruit dozens of experienced engineers to develop working relationships with Airbus.

The company supplies aircraft systems and engineering services to OEMs. One of the main reasons that the Bristol site was chosen was because it is located near to Airbus’s design and development operation in Filton. GKN took over Airbus’s wing manufacturing facility in Bristol in January last year.    

The company is looking to take on experienced aerospace engineers initially and then younger recruits. Didier Reboul, managing director, Aeroconseil UK, said: “We require mechanical and hydro-mechanical engineers and engineers to carry out systems installation. Everything that Airbus might need. It’s a wide spectrum.”

Aeroconseil UK currently has just over 20 staff. Reboul hopes to increase this number to 30 by the end of the year. He said he hoped to increase the company’s turnover to £5 million during the same period.

“Our plan is to further develop and grow our business with Airbus and to develop a relationship with other aircraft engineering firms in the UK,” he said.
