Get involved in Celebrating and Championing Women Engineers event

Formula Student Team

IMechE are spotlighting the profound impact of women in engineering, both historically and in the present day, at our 'Celebrating and Championing Women Engineers' event on 5 March 2024!

The event marks the 100th anniversary of Verena Holmes' election as the first woman member of the IMechE, celebrating her significant contributions to the profession.

But not only are we unveiling the newly commissioned portrait of Verena Holmes, we're looking to host an exhibition to champion women engineers of the past, present and future, and this is where you come in!

If you're a woman in engineering and interested in taking part, please email diversity@imeche.org by 15 February with the following:

  1. Full Name
  2. Job Title
  3. High-resolution photos, ideally featuring yourself and another in an engineering-related setting (we would like two, but one high resolution photo is equally good)
  4. A brief one-liner to highlight what distinguishes you from other profiles. You may choose to answer one of the following questions:
  • What inspired you to become an engineer?
  • What role have mentors played in your career and life so far?
  • What are you most proud of in your engineering journey?

We look forward to receiving your responses!
