IMechE Launches Apprentice & EngTech Awards for 2023

The Institution is pleased to announce the launch of its highly anticipated Apprentice & EngTech Awards for 2023. The awards aim to celebrate the outstanding contributions made by apprentices, engineering technicians and their employers who are driving innovation and shaping the future of the engineering sector.

The Institution’s Apprentice and EngTech Awards not only acknowledge individual achievements but also highlight the vital role that apprenticeships play in bolstering the industry and the wider economy.

Honouring Apprentices and Engineering Technicians

The awards seek to reward the exceptional talent and commitment of apprentices and engineering technicians across various disciplines within the field. By recognising their dedication and contribution, the awards aim to inspire others to pursue careers in engineering, thereby ensuring a sustainable pipeline of skilled professionals to meet the industry's evolving needs.

The individual awards cover a wide range of categories and offer various prizes, including:

• Apprentice of the Year - £1,000
• EngTech of the Year - £1,000 and 2 years free IMechE membership
• Scotland Apprentice Project Prize - £1,500
• Northern Ireland Apprentice Project Prize - £3,500
• Best Apprentice Certificate - certificate
• EngTech Visionary – plaque and certificate

Recognising Employer Contributions

In addition to honoring individuals, the IMechE Apprentice & EngTech Awards also pay tribute to the apprenticeship providers who have played a pivotal role in nurturing and supporting the growth of apprentices and engineering technicians via the Advanced Apprenticeship Provider of the Year Award. The award recognises the significant role providers have demonstrated outstanding commitment to providing high-quality training, mentorship, and workplace environments that foster creativity and innovation.
