IMechE Malaysia 23rd Annual General Meeting

The 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) for The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Malaysia Branch was successfully held on 21 March 2023 in Royal Lake Club, Kuala Lumpur.

The presence of the Guest of Honour, President of IMechE UK,  Phil Peel was well-received by the members.

The president gave a presentation to the branch members, with a brief introduction of himself, his career, his vision for IMechE and a Questions and Answers session. The president’s address closed out with an award ceremony to IMechE Malaysia branch founding Chair, Prof. Ir. Dr. Ong Kok Seng, as a token of appreciation to his contribution to IMechE.

The 22/23 Chair, Ir. Dr. Aidil Chee Tahir presented the annual report. He expressed his gratitude to all the branch members, the internal auditors, the branch committee members and the South East Asia Regional Chair for rendering the support to the branch.

The financial report was presented by the Honorary Treasurer, Ir. Ts. Gerald Victor.

The IMechE Malaysia Young Members Section (YMS) Immediate Past Chair, Miss Choong Pooi Ying, and the current Chair, Mr. Teow Hsien Loong presented a report for the Young Members’ section.

The AGM concluded at 8:30pm with a photo session together with the IMechE President.

The AGM was well attended with over 30 branch members in attendance.
