IMechE’s Tribology Gold Medal 2020 winner announced

Professor Bharat Bhushan has been awarded the Institution's 2020 Gold Medal for Tribology.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements in Tribology, with five decades of distinguished and continued contributions to the advancement of Tribology. The Institution would like to congratulate Professor Bharat Bhushan on winning the Tribology Gold Medal.

Professor Bhushan is internationally recognised for his expertise in the mechanical engineering discipline of tribology on the micro and nanoscales. He has globally enhanced the science of tribology by playing a key role in the development of advanced magnetic storage products. As an educator, author, administrator he has expressed an enthusiasm for science and technology in general with a sincere desire to share it for the benefit of others.
