IMechE SEAR Cross Border Webinar on Reliability Engineering

On 8 May 2024, IMechE SEAR organised another cross-border webinar. The webinar was delivered by the newly elected Chair of IMechE Brunei to a group of Engineering students from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (The Energy University) in Malaysia.

A total of 150 students and 3 Academics from Universiti Tenaga Nasional attended this webinar. IMechE SEAR Chair, Ir. Dr. Chua Yaw Long moderated the webinar session.

Mr. Amirul, a Reliability Engineer from Brunei Shell Petroleum began his presentation after a brief introduction by the moderator. In his presentation, the speaker provided various definitions of reliability, the purpose of reliability engineering, and tools that a reliability engineer uses daily. The speaker also provided examples of typical problems faced by reliability engineers, the challenges, and best practices that a reliability engineer should have.

Throughout the presentations, there were many questions by the students and academicians raised for the speakers. The webinar session ended with sincere appreciation from the organising committee and students.
