IMechE to Exhibit and Host Workshop at WES Annual Conference 2025

We’re excited to announce that the Institution of Mechanical Engineers will be exhibiting at the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) Annual Conference in Birmingham on 28–29 April 2025. If you’re attending, make sure to stop by our stand—we’d love to meet you!

Why We’re Attending

The WES Annual Conference is one of the UK’s leading events for women in engineering. As a key partner of WES, we are committed to deepening our collaboration and supporting the society’s important mission of inclusion and impact in the engineering community.

Being present at events like these not only reinforces our partnership with WES but also ensures that IMechE continues to be a visible and active part of the global engineering conversation. The conference offers a unique platform for us to connect with the engineering community, promote the value of professional membership, and demonstrate how IMechE can support engineers throughout every stage of their careers.

What We Hope to Gain

Our goal over the two days is simple: to engage with the engineering community—whether established leaders, early-career professionals, or those just starting their journey in the field. We'll be joined by a mix of IMechE members and staff who are looking forward to meeting delegates, hearing their stories, and sharing the ways in which IMechE can support them in achieving their ambitions.

Supporting Career Development: IMechE Workshop

We’re also proud to be hosting a dedicated workshop on 28 April, focused on supporting engineers in the early stages of their careers. This session will offer practical insights, lessons learned, and guidance for navigating a career in engineering from our dedicated IMechE members who volunteer their time to join us at the conference.

We recognise that starting out in the engineering world can be both exciting and daunting, and our workshop aims to provide clarity, community, and confidence. Attendees will hopefully leave with useful takeaways that can help shape their career development and inspire their next steps.

Join Us

Whether you're attending for professional development, networking, inspiration—or all of the above—we hope to see you there. Visit the IMechE stand to say hello, learn more about what we do, and discover how the Institution can support your growth as an engineer.

Let’s connect, collaborate, and shape the future of engineering together.
