The IMechE Trustee Board sets the strategic direction for the charity. It is now seeking to co-opt to itself someone with additional skills in what represents an interesting and exciting opportunity. This co-opted role will provide input to discussions including the future of IMechE’s heritage headquarters in Birdcage Walk.
The co-option will have a term of three years (renewable subject to an annual appraisal). It is envisaged that the successful candidate will assume the role in February 2024.
Having previous experience as a charity Trustee would be advantageous together with senior level experience of:
- Large scale UK property development
- Overseeing major UK projects involving building or infrastructure
- UK property management experience
- Prior experience of financial scrutiny within a complex organisation
- Project management
- Change management
- Profit and loss experience.
These skills may have been demonstrated through your involvement with a range of organisations (e.g., work, academic, charitable, professional bodies etc.).
There are c6 Trustee Board meetings per year, with one in-person meeting, the rest taking place virtually. The time commitment will be approximately one day per month.
