Institution News Team
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) is excited to announce the launch of the Inspiring Future Engineers Quest, a dynamic online competition designed to elevate the voices of budding engineers committed to creating a globally inclusive and digitally enabled engineering community.
Kicking off on 7 October 2024, the competition invites participants from all levels of IMechE membership across seven international regions to showcase their stories, projects, and initiatives that exemplify the power of engineering in improving our world. The submission phase will close on 10 November, 2024, followed by a voting period from 11 November to 24 November, 2024.
Entrants can submit digital posters featuring a maximum of two photos of themselves or their group in action, alongside a compelling 300-word narrative. Each submission should aim for a maximum file size of 2MB. The competition emphasizes community engagement, with winners determined by a combination of online votes (20%) and evaluations from the IMechE Young Members’ Committee and the Young Members’ Board (80%).
The competition features three distinct categories with a range of prizes.
Submissions will be judged on various criteria, including the creativity of the page design, the ambitious impact of the activity, and the overall inspiration provided. Voting will play a crucial role, with submissions receiving varying points based on the number of likes they garner on IMechE's LinkedIn and Facebook platforms.
This competition presents a unique opportunity for engineers of all backgrounds to come together, share their stories, and inspire future generations. As we strive to build a more inclusive engineering community, we encourage all eligible members to participate and make their voices heard.
