Institution News Team
For the first time, Institution members can search over 40,000 online ejournals, ebooks and items held by the library using the new library search tool.
The all-new library search tool makes it easier and quicker for members to access and download the mechanical engineering materials they need.
Library Manager, Sarah Rogers, said: “The library search tool really brings all our services together. We know from our last user survey that 'one search for all' was a top requirement for members. The library search tool will really save members time, and it makes it really easy to find and access the paper or book you require.”
Members can enter keywords in the search box to find a whole wealth of publications, and are able to log in if they want to download a book or article. They can select fulltext items from the left hand menu to view online materials only, or library catalogue if they wish to see the physical library items only. Users can log in using their Institution website credentials to view and download any fulltext item.
Books from publishers such as Elsevier and Springer are available to download in full, while other publishers' books are available for chapter download. For physical library catalogue items, members should log in with their membership number to request a free postal loan (EU only).
In the case of forgotten login details, members can request a reminder from the login screen.
Members who are familiar with a particular database such as IMechE Proceedings or the Knovel ebook database can still choose to search these directly from the databases page, which contains a full list of databases. Institution credentials are required for access to these resources. To use the advanced database features such as Knovel’s materials data search and interactive equation solvers it is still recommended to search the Knovel database directly.
Search the library's collection using the library search tool.
