Institution News Team
We’re pleased to announce the launch of our new Culture Ambassador Network, and we want you to be a part of it. This initiative will play a key role in shaping an inclusive culture across our Institution and the wider engineering community.
We’re proud to have Emma Bould CEng FIMechE leading for members and Farah Baksh, our Global Relationship Manager, leading for employees. Together, they’ll guide us in building a network that reflects the diversity of our community, so that all voices are heard. Now, we’re calling on members and staff to apply to become Cultural Ambassadors. This volunteer role is for anyone keen to collaborate and create an environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute—especially if you’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to get involved. The role includes leading initiatives, collaborating with fellow Ambassadors to identify and drive projects that promote inclusivity. This could include organising events, developing training programmes, or advocating for policy changes. Emma Bould said: “One of the most meaningful contributions you can make as an individual, is to drive positive change through allyship – the active support for those in a minority or marginalised group, without being a member of it. The Culture Ambassador Network is a clear action we are taking to demonstrate commitment to building a thriving, inclusive global community at IMechE, and there has never been a better time to become a volunteer.” Farah Baksh said: “Be a part of something bigger. Be a voice for change. Your support is key, ensuring IMechE has a diverse and global community. Become a Culture Ambassador.” If you are interested in taking part in the network, we encourage you to apply. More details can be found on our role description flyer
