The virtual orientation gave students an insight into our society and how they can polish their skills and unveil their hidden talents. IMechE provides students a platform to learn new skills that will help them in surpassing the contemporary workplace.

The virtual session
The host, Mr. Salman Abbasi, began the ceremony with a brief introduction of our prestigious society and showed a presentation video of IMechE and what its events look like. The host welcomed our Executive Committee:
- Mr. Muhammad Hammad – Student Chair
- Mr. Mohammad Affan Khokhar – Student Vice Chair
- Miss Nida Gul – Honorary Secretary
- Mr. Muhammad Bin Sharif – Team Lead Public Relations and
- Mr. Muhammad Khizar Hayat – Honorary Treasurer.
who discussed their journey in IMechE NED Student Chapter emphasising how much importance interpersonal skills hold in an engineering career besides engineering knowledge that are instilled by working in the society, hoping to persuade the freshers to join IMechE.
Mr. Salman then welcomed the previous Executive Committee and IMechE's Mentors. The Virtual Session included a panel discussion with the preceding IMechE's Executive Committee and the Mentors, where they shared about their experience in IMechE and how it helped them grow and polish their skills, which have benefited them in pursuing their desired job and are assisting them in their professional careers.

IMechE's events
The events arranged in the previous tenure of IMechE were discussed, how they are organised, and what one can learn through these events. Some technical events that lead to national levels were discussed, and how one can extract benefits from participating in those events.
The discussed events were:
- Speak out for Engineering (SOfE)
Speak Out for Engineering is a platform where students can brainstorm their engineering ideas and present them using their presentation and speaking skills.
Mechathon
- This competitive event includes two rounds:
- Bottle rocket
- Bridge building using ice cream sticks.
AKDC
- Students are challenged to build a fully functioning robotic device.
Propellair
- This event combines all technical talents in one place. A student has to design an RC plane and create a presentation of how they designed the plane and what strategies they used.
Membership description
How to become a member of IMechE, and if you are one, how would you get the benefits of the membership, and what are the advantages of availing this membership. Our host and the guests gave a detailed and cerebral insight about IMechE's membership and how one can fully benefit from it, from access to an online library to attending intellectual events without any charges.
Question and answer session
The virtual event was wrapped up with question and answer session held by IMechE's foregoing Executive Committee and Mentors where they cleared the queries of the audience regarding events, membership and other aspects of IMechE.
