The IMechE Undergraduate Scholarship application process is open to students who are about to embark on their journey of studying for an Institution accredited degree in the upcoming academic year. You could be eligible for £8,000, paid out in £2,000 increments over four years.
Suppose you're already in your first year of study and making excellent progress, and are on track for a 2:1. If that sounds like you, apply for The First-Year Undergraduate Scholarship, which offers between £6,000 - £9,000, depending on which level of degree you're studying.
We are passionate about supporting, encouraging and developing the future of mechanical engineers by offering financial aid at a pivotal time. Those students aiming to obtain professional registration as a Chartered Engineer may be undertaking an IMechE accredited Masters degree in the upcoming academic year. Applications are now open for the Postgraduate Masters Scholarships. Full-time students may receive up to £6,000, and those studying part-time are also eligible for funding.
We're proud to offer the historical and prestigious Whitworth Scholarship to outstanding young engineers. You'll need at least two years of practical engineering experience and are about to begin an accredited degree in the upcoming academic year. The value of the award varies based on individual circumstances but could be up to £9,000 per year for four years.
The Whitworth Scholarships are incredibly uplifting and life-changing for winners, promoting a positive step forward in the careers of young engineers, as described by 2020 winner Christopher Armytage;
"Winning this award has given me the greatest step forward in furthering my Engineering Academic career."
We offer enhanced financial support for engineers entering the postgraduate research phase of their academic journey. The Whitworth Senior Scholarship offers £15,000 per year to successful applicants. Aside from the funding, which is substantial, at the end of the program, each award holder will be considered by a panel of judges for a certificate, medal and use of the title 'Whitworth Senior Scholar’ ('Wh.Sch').
In 2020, sixteen budding engineers were awarded £128,000 in scholarship funds. While funding holds significant value to students, our output doesn't end there. IMechE proudly and enthusiastically offers a helping hand to the future of mechanical engineers through the inspiration and encouragement of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Don't miss out on your chance to secure financial help; remember, applications close on 30 June. Good luck!
