Bosch help two British teams get testing ahead of Silverstone!
The Bosch FS17 Team Testing event was held at MIRA proving ground on 27th June. It gave the two teams Bosch sponsor access to world class facilities to test their cars in the same way they will be at Formula Student.
Oxford Brookes Racing and Brunel Racing had the opportunity to have their business presentations reviewed, providing valuable feedback for the main event. There was also plenty of action on track and in the pits as they faced a Scrutineering Check and Acceleration Test.
The judges throughout the day included current Bosch Engineers, most of whom competed at Formula Student themselves while at University, so they could definitely speak from experience!
Kim Everitt from Bosch Engineering Group, a calibration placement student from the University of Hertfordshire, had this to say:
"This is a unique chance for the teams and we are happy to be able to offer this opportunity. As a calibration engineer I know how important it is to test the vehicle before it is released onto the road or in to series production. It’s also great for their personal development and career too as students have the chance to get to know future potential employers such as Bosch."
The day ended with a BBQ, providing much needed replenishment for the final run in to the main Formula Student event. We hope it provided the teams with the necessary boost and encouragement they need for a successful competition at Silverstone in July!
