Institution News Team
A delegation from the Institution recently visited Schrader Electronics to help the company further develop its engineers.
Schrader Electronics, based in Northern Ireland, designs and manufactures tyre pressure monitoring (TPMS) products, with customers including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Mercedes, Renault, BMW and Subaru.
Schrader Electronics launched their professional registration scheme with the Institution in 2013 for their apprentices, technicians and engineers and since then has seen considerable levels of interest in the various pathways available.
Paul Gardner, a Fellow of the Institution, and Manufacturing Director at Schrader Electronics, said: “Establishing the IMechE scheme has been instrumental in helping the company attract, develop and retain our engineering talent. We have a breadth of engineering disciplines that are critical to sustaining the successful development of our organisation.”
The delegation from the Institution included President-Elect Richard Folkson, Business Development Manager for Northern Ireland Farah Baksh and Committee Member Patrick Kelly. The group met with Paul and attended a presentation he delivered to staff, which provided insights into the benefits of professional registration. The delegation was also given a manufacturing tour.
