Institution news
The International Young Members Committee (IYYMC) have started the IMechE Student Chapter of the Year Award, which recognises the efforts of the IMechE Student Chapters. For the first time the competition was piloted in South East Asia with hopes of rolling out to the wider international region in the future.
The competition had entries from 10 South East Asia Student Chapters from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia submitted their annual reports for 2021 to be in the running for the Best Student Chapter (SC) prizes.
The competition is open to all Young Members of the Institution - Affiliates, Associates or any member who has been professionally registered for less than 10 years.
At the end the term year, all IMechE Student Chapters in Malaysia were encouraged to submit an annual report about their Student Chapter's progress, activities, recruitment, and any relevant initiatives. The submitted reports were evaluated by a judging panel elected by the International Young Members Committee.
Through this award, it is aimed to achieve the following objectives:

b) To provide an avenue for the student chapter to share their best practices with other student chapters
c) To provide student chapter to present their work through written presentation

The Institution is pleased to announce the results of the 2021 Student Chapter of the Year Award.
