Special Meeting, member vote on IMechE headquarters

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers will hold a Special Meeting on 27 January 2025, followed by a member vote on a resolution about the future of its headquarters building on Birdcage Walk.

The Special Meeting will discuss the resolution and provide members with the opportunity to ask questions before casting their vote.

President Clive Hickman OBE said:

“This Special Meeting is important for the future of IMechE, and I would urge members to take part in the discussion and voting process. We value your engagement and support to help IMechE move forward with this crucial issue.”

The Trustee Board and Council recommend voting "FOR" the resolution to enable informed decision-making regarding the headquarters. The aim is to either secure a sustainable path for maintaining or repurposing the property or to consider other strategic alternatives for IMechE’s future.

Key details and how to participate

  • Meeting format: The Special Meeting will be hybrid, but we encourage members to join online. All members can attend and ask questions.
