Teams Confirmed for UAS Challenge 2024

UAS Challenge Team

The UAS Challenge warmly welcomes new and returning teams to take part in the 10th Anniversary competition.

The annual UAS Challenge continues to tasking teams of university students to design, develop and fly their own Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) from scratch. Teams submit reports throughout the year, detailing and justifying their engineering decisions across design, manufacturing, safety and much more.

The competition remains as close to a real-world engineering project as possible, with students developing their engineering knowledge and practical skills when creating their aircraft. In line with the Institution’s aims of supporting the next generation of engineering talent, those who participate leave university with a wealth of experience and soft skills gained outside of a classroom and go on to become highly capable graduate engineers in industry.

The final part of the challenge comes with the fly off event in July, where students demonstrate the capabilities of their UAS at the BMFA Buckminster site and present their work to judging panels of senior engineers in industry.
