The Institution is delighted to report that a number of our members have been recognised in the Queen’s New Year Honours List 2021.
The 2021 Honours recognise engineers who have made a difference to society, including helping us fight against COVID-19. The Institution would like to congratulate all those who were featured in the Queen’s New Year Honours List and thank them for their hard work.
The members of the Institution who were recognised were:
Mr Martin James Frobisher CBE
Member of the Institution and Group Safety and Engineering Director, Technical Authority at Network Rail. Martin was awarded his CBE for services to the NHS and Railway Workers during COVID-19, and voluntary service through the Army Reserves.
Professor Eleanor Phoebe Jane Stride CBE
Member of the Institution and Statutory Professor of Biomaterials at the University of Oxford. Eleanor was recognised for services to Engineering.
Mrs Fiona Jane Auty BEM
Member of the Institution and Head of Government Relations at National Physical Laboratory. Fiona Auty was awarded her BEM for services to Science and Engineering Communication.
Dr Aminur Khosru Rahman BEM
Fellow of the Institution and Chair of the Kent Area Committee, Aminur was recognised for his services to Education.
