Your article makes no reference to the turbocharged petrol engines produced by Saab 20 years ago

The interesting article covering the collaboration between the University of Bath and Cummins makes no reference to the turbo charged petrol engines produced by Saab over 20 years ago.

No doubt the products made then by this technically very advanced aircraft and automobile maker are 'old hat' when compared with current projects. Nevertheless, many happy users like me were enjoying fuss-free turbo boosted driving then behind mass-produced engines, which if my recall is correct, were delivering up to 90 hp/litre and very spritely performance.

Their East/West engine installations must have pre-dated Issigonis by 10 years too!
