The UAE IMechE Design Challenge 2024, held on 18 May, marked a significant achievement in engineering innovation and competition.
Organised by the IMechE UAE Branch in partnership with the University of Bolton IMechE student chapter, this year's event theme was to design an “Internal Pipe Climber."
The competition attracted talented students from the University of Bolton, Academic Centre Ras Al Khaimah, Manipal University, and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Participants showcased their skills in various categories, including the Design Challenge, Poster Competition, Presentation Competition, and Peer Review Competition.
A distinguished panel of industry judges, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Nakhi, Mr. Faisal Saeed, Mr. Mohammed Shafique, and Mr. Carl Enston provided expert evaluations throughout the event. The judges were honoured by Raj Nambiar, Campus Director of the University of Bolton, Ras Al Khaimah.
The event began with a warm welcome from Jaimon Dennis Quadros and concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Mohammed Nadeem. M. Rahul Murikkoli also presented the day's agenda, ensuring smooth proceedings.
Team Bolton from the University of Bolton emerged victorious in the Design Challenge with an impressive time of 5.25 seconds. RIT students excelled in the Presentation and Poster competitions, while Team Gold from the University of Bolton triumphed in the Peer Review category.
