An 18-month programme designed to produce well-rounded engineers with a broad range of experience, enabling employers to support early-career engineers in maximising their learning and accelerating the rate at which they realise their full potential.

The IMechE Early Career Development Programme helps early-career engineers lay the foundations for a successful role and career progression. This programme is structured to include flexibility and transferability, focusing on professional development (what they don't teach at school or university) while covering specialised areas. Participants will explore topics such as personal effectiveness and branding, report writing, project management, innovation, influencing, business skills, and Six Sigma principles.
