This new CMI Level 3 qualification is ideal for those entering the management sector, in roles such as team leaders, supervisors, first-time managers, project officers and shift managers.
CMI study time is measured in credits, which are based on estimated learning time for the average learner. This includes the time to be taught the content via formal Guided Learning, as well as additional informal learning, preparation and completion of assessment.
If you are a professionally registered engineer (CEng, IEng or EngTech), you will only need to complete 50% of the required credits for each qualification.
This qualification allows you to develop your knowledge of roles and responsibilities of a manager by focusing on specific skill areas.
You will need to complete at least one unit to a minimum of 4 credits and submit a written assignment that successfully demonstrates your understanding of the your chosen topic.
This qualification needs to be completed within 12 months of the start date.
This qualification gives you a broader knowledge of management skills while focusing on the specific areas appropriate to you and your workplace.
You will need to complete any combination of units to a minimum of 13 credits and submit a written assignment that successfully demonstrates your understanding of the your chosen topic. This qualification needs to be completed within 36 months of the start date.
This qualification needs to be completed within 36 months of the start date of the first unit.

If you wish to attend additional modules to further your learning, please be aware that you will not be able to complete an assignment for these and a supplementary attendance fee will be charged.
CMI recognises the value of professional registration, so ensures that professionally registered engineers (CEng, IEng, EngTech) are entitled to a 50% exemption on the number of credits for each Level 3 qualification.
