Summary
Powertrain Systems for a Sustainable Futures Conference 2025 is the leading technical conference convening engineers, researchers and innovators developing the technologies transforming powertrains for the future.
Through technical presentations and discussions across themes like Powertrain Technologies for net-zero, enabling technologies, and the evolving ecosystem, keep pace with engine advances, electrification, fuels and more. Gain insights to inform your projects while sharing your work for consideration at this call for a paper conference. Join us in shaping the future of mobile technology! Submit your paper to explore solutions for a carbon-neutral industry and engage with leading experts.
This event will be co-located with four dynamic conferences: EV Batteries, EV Powertrain NVH, and Vehicle Aerodynamics. Enhance your experience by networking with a diverse group of professionals and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the future of mobility; join us and be part of the conversation.
Call for papers now open:
We are open to receive both academic abstracts and industry presentations now; submit your work by 14 March 2025 to be considered for the programme.
Submit your work via Oxford Abstracts to have your abstract and paper reviewed by our committee of industry and academic experts, and present at the upcoming conference. Your initial submission will be peer-reviewed by our esteemed technical committee. Authors of accepted submissions will receive instructions on submitting their full paper by May deadline or presentation materials by September deadline.
We aim for papers to be published in proceedings within 6 weeks of the event. Selected high-quality submissions will be invited to extend their paper by 30% for potential inclusion in a special edition journal issue if one is published.
The scope of the conference includes the following topics:
1. Powertrain Technologies for Net-Zero:
- Engines (light, heavy duty, off-highway, marine, stationary, including two-stroke, aviation reciprocating engines)
- Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) technology and applications
- Sustainable fuels (biofuels, e-fuels, ammonia)
- Electric motors and systems
- Fuel cell technology and sub-systems
- Hybrid powertrain configurations
- Emissions control systems for regulations (e.g., Euro 7 and beyond)
- Transmission systems
2. Enabling Future Technologies:
- Simulation, modelling, and experimental techniques
- Powertrain development methodologies and systems analysis
- Life-cycle analysis for net-zero powertrains
- Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in powertrain development
- Broadening propulsion systems (off-road, maritime, aerospace)
3. The Evolving Powertrain Ecosystem:
- Alternative mobility services and their impact on powertrains
- Future energy sector and its integration with powertrains (10-year+ outlook)
